A JellyBum Bunny

jellybum-bunny-2

Hello, my name is Fluffkins, and I’m a bunny made from a JellyBum pattern and KnitPicks Shine Sport yarn in Cream. You can find a pattern for me and a whole bunch of other cutie-patootie knitted animals here, on JellyBum’s Etsy page.

Ain’t I cute?

Droolworthy new yarn from KnitPicks.com

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, everyone. Life’s pretty busy these days with the new baby, my graphic design biz, and just “life” in general!

I do want to get you excited about this beautiful new yarn from KnitPicks.com, though (I know I am):

CITY TWEED YARN

It will be so great for something fall-ish this year.

Ta ta for now!

Completed Lacey Baby Shrug

Here’s a little shrug I’ve knit/crochet for Cadence’s Easter outfit. I had a skein of Knit Pick’s shine sport in a lovely apple green lying around. I had JUST enough to knit the main shrug (only about 3 inches left!), and then decided to edge it with a lovely lacey crochet pattern in white. I’m quite happy with it! If I have time, I’ll post the pattern. Please let me know if there is any interest. Happy Spring!

A Taggie Blankie for Cady

cadys-taggie-blankie1

Okay, okay, I know this is yet another non-knitting project, but I thought I hadn’t posted in a while, so this will have to do!

I’ve noticed so many of these cute taggie blankies everywhere - from the farmer’s market, to in the hands of local babies all over town. I thought I’d make one for Cadence!

It was so easy and fun! I made mine with a flannel print on one side and a chocolate brown minkee fabric on the other. I cut my ribbon in three different lengths (4″, 5″ and 6″) and alternated ribbon patterns and sizes.

There’s a great tutorial on how to sew one here, at Mama’s Doodles blog.

I’d highly recommend this little project! I made one for Cadence and one for a friend’s shower in under an hour! Picking out the different ribbons was the funnest part, and the material and ribbons for three blankies cost under $30 (CDN). I read somewhere… baby’s love playing with the tags on their stuffed animals & toys more than the toys themselves, so why not make them a beautiful, sensory blankie packed full of silky taggies to play with?!
